In the summer time
Stealin' red wine
Jumpin off the river bridge
Just fair oaks kid
In the summertime
With Lila for love
Couldn't help thinking
God smilin' from above
In the summer time
Steallin' red wine
Goin' to art shows
In our hippie cloths
Then her dad did appear
With a badge and his gear
Ran for the oak trees
In my worn out jeans
And I saw her tears
They lasted for years
For we were in love
God smilin' from above
When it came to an end
Would I see her again
Through the old oak trees
In her cut-off jeans
There came another day
Flyin' through L.A.
I stopped at a bar
In my Austen Healy car
A beauty owned the place
Said I know your face
I've missed you all these years
Through all my tears
In the summertime
With Lila for love
Couldn't help thinking
God smiled from above
Bought a big beach house
Down Santa Barbara way
Where we settled down easy
For many a day
Had a gaggle of kids
Now we're back in show biz
With Lila for love
God smilin' from above
In the summer time
Stealin' red wine
Jumpin off the river bridge
Just fair oaks kids
